POLICE: Charleston man watched porn, touched self in area McDonalds
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man was caught watching pornographic videos and fondling himself at a Cross Lanes McDonalds, authorities say.
Tiance Anton Hughes was arrested shortly after at the Cross Lanes branch of the Kanawha County public library. He faces a charge of indecent exposure.
Kanawha Deputy C.R. Atha was dispatched Saturday morning to McDonalds on Big Tyler Road after restaurant workers reported a man watching pornographic videos on his laptop and touching himself in the dining room.
Workers told the deputy when he arrived that the man had walked across the street to the library. Atha found Hughes, 31, of Virginia Street, sitting in the back of the library with a silver laptop, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court.
Hughes told the deputy he'd just left McDonalds where he'd been looking at "bikini pics" on his computer. Atha looked at the computer screen and noted in the complaint that one of the tabs for active search windows was titled "Curvy Blonde Threesome X-Hamster." A search of the website showed it was pornography.
The kitchen manager at McDonalds told the deputy he'd seen Hughes sitting in a booth with a pornographic movie playing on the laptop and his left hand inside his pants, the complaint said. He said Hughes was within view of about 10 other customers.
Another witness said he'd also seen Hughes with his hand down his pants but said Hughes was sitting with a man and a young boy at the time.
Hughes was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.
This is not the first time Hughes has been accused of exposing himself.
In 2007, Hughes was arrested after trying to view pornographic material on a computer at the Charleston Marriott, where he was not a guest, according to Daily Mail archives. Hughes' pants zipper was open and his underwear was exposed. He was charged with indecent exposure and trespassing.
Hughes was being held at South Central Regional Jail on $500 bond Sunday night.
Anyone who knows the identity of the boy who was sitting across from Hughes at McDonalds is asked to call Atha at 304-357-0169.
