Newly elected delegate missing end of session because of commitment to National Guard
Delegate Josh Nelson, R-Boone, confers with Delegate Gary Howell, R-Mineral, at the state Capitol in Charleston Thursday. Nelson will soon leave to fulfill a military training obligation, causing him to miss the rest of his first legislative session.
Delegate Josh Nelson, R-Boone, said coal industry issues convinced him to make a run for political office. He said he came to Charleston, coal dust still on his face, to register as a candidate in last year's elections. He is shown here with wife Brittany and son Elijah in front of the Coal Miner's Memorial on the Capitol grounds.
