"We hope to have a new director on board sometime within the first three weeks of June," Kees said.
Kees said the board would begin narrowing down the resumes to a short list. The short list applicants will then be contacted to set up an interview within the next few weeks, he said.
"I think we can have the interviews set up by the end of the month," Kees said.
Kees hopes to have about six to eight interviews set up.
Kees was very surprised that the agency had received so much interest in the position, he said.
The salary for the new director has not yet been established, Kees said.
"We probably won't discuss salary until we start doing the interviews," he said.
Hamilton's salary was $56,000 a year, according to figures provided by the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services. The state agency provides funding to Kanawha Valley Senior Services.
