CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Services are scheduled this weekend for an Ohio resident who died at the Boy Scouts of America's National Jamboree in West Virginia.
Tobias Funeral Home of Dayton, Ohio, says 66-year-old Gene Schulz's funeral will be held on Saturday. Schulz was a resident of Beavercreek, Ohio, and was a staff volunteer at the Jamboree, which ended Wednesday.
BSA national spokesman Deron Smith says the victim was walking from his camp when he collapsed last Saturday. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The funeral home's obituary says Schulz was an Army veteran, a lifelong history enthusiast and a former Boy Scout leader.
