State Police will hold a sobriety checkpoint in Cabell County this weekend.
Troopers will check vehicles for impaired drivers 8 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday along U.S. 60 near the 29th Street exit from Interstate 64. The area of Fifth Avenue at 22nd Street in Huntington will serve as an alternate location for the checkpoint.
Impaired driving is the focus of the checkpoint, but troopers also will watch for reckless driving, speeding and seatbelt violations.
State Police urge the public to report drunk drivers, reckless driving, stranded motorists and criminal violations by dialing *SP (star-77) on their cellphones. The *SP system puts callers through to the nearest State Police detachment.
