CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Greenbrier is accepting reservations for its "Tribute to the Virginias" promotion with lodging discounts offered at the luxurious resort in White Sulphur Springs.
Special package deals have been announced for 2014.
Jim Justice, chairman and owner of The Greenbrier, said in a news release, "We owe so much of our success to the people of this region that we wanted to bring back the Tribute package as our way of saying thank you."
Package dates with special rates run from Jan. 2 to March 19, excluding Feb. 14 to 16 and March 10 to 13.
Midweek rates start at $59 a night and weekend rates (Friday and Saturday) begin at $179. The rate does not include resort fee and taxes. Guests must stay a minimum of two nights. A three-night maximum stay is allowed. Rates are based upon two adults per room.
Exclusions apply on Jan. 19 when rates start at $149 and on Feb. 27 when rates begin at $119.
Reservations must be booked online. Telephone reservations will not be accepted. Guests must pay in advance for reservations. The deposit is non-refundable and may not be transferred to alternate dates.
While the promotion is called "Tribute to the Virginias," West Virginia or Virginia residency is not required to book a package.
In addition to accommodations, packages include coffee service, historical tours of the resort, wireless Internet access, use of the indoor pool and fitness center, movie screenings in the hotel's theater, afternoon tea, and nightly entertainment in the casino. While use of the ice skating rink is included, skate rentals are extra.
Justice began offering the "Tribute to the Virginias" package in 2009 when it was touted as a once-in-lifetime opportunity. However, the popular package deals have returned each year.
