CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The new school being formed through the consolidation of two local community colleges now has a name.
The new school will be called Bridge Valley Community and Technical College. It's being formed through the consolidation of Bridgemont Community and Technical College and Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College. That's happening in accordance with legislation passed this year calling for the schools to be restructured and combined to form one institution with multiple campuses.
The schools will continue to operate independently through the next academic year. The incoming class in the fall of 2014 will register under the new name.
