In the other case, Anthony Charles Matics, 19, of Dartmouth Avenue in Charleston, was also arrested Saturday for allegedly sexually abusing a young female relative visiting from out of town.
The victim's mother told Charleston police that she found Matics in his bed with her 7-year-old daughter and the covers pulled over them on July 19. The woman told Matics to get out of the bed more than once, and when he did, several minutes after her initial demand, she noticed that his pants were unbuttoned and unzipped, according to a complaint filed Friday in Kanawha Magistrate Court.
The girl told her mother after he left the home that Matics had touched her inappropriately, the complaint said. The girl was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's Women and Children's hospital, where she was evaluated and interviewed.
Matics was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree sexual abuse.
Pauley ordered Matics not to have contact with the victim and released him that afternoon on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond.
According to court documents, that means Matics will have to pay $50,000 if he does not comply with the magistrate's conditions.
Matics' preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 2.
Lacy's preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. July 30.
