Kanawha County spelling bee set for Saturday

By From staff reports

Despite the weather-related closure of schools on Friday, the Kanawha County Spelling Bee is still set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at South Charleston High School.

"The snow's supposed to move out," said Barbara Jones, county spelling bee coordinator.

Contestants will include fourth- through eighth-grade winners of elementary and middle school competitions.

The winner and runner-up of the county bee will move on to the Gazette-Mail Regional Spelling Bee, to be held March 12 at Capital High School.
