Some Charleston streets will be closed today to accommodate traffic for Trooper Eric Workman's memorial service at the Civic Center beginning at 2 p.m.
Workman was fatally injured in the line of duty Aug. 28. He died Friday.
Clendenin Street between Lee and Quarrier streets will be closed starting at 10 a.m. Officials expect heavy traffic after 1 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue and on Lee and Quarrier streets near the Civic Center.
Portions of Washington, Lee and Quarrier streets and Pennsylvania Avenue will be closed temporarily following the service while the funeral procession leaves the Civic Center and heads toward Clay County for the burial.
Officials estimate the procession will begin around 3:30 or 4 p.m.
