He includes a couple of cover tunes of artists and songs that have influenced him, including Johnny Cash's "Guess Things Happen That Way" and a country twist on the Nick Lowe/Elvis Costello song, "What's So Funny (About Peace, Love and Understanding)."
He's drafted a bit of help from some well-known guitarists, including Bill Kirchen, formerly with Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen, and Chris Casello and Jamie LaRitz from Nashville.
Saturday night, Yeardley will share some of the new material - sans guest artists, of course. He's happy that his inquiries to Taylor Books paid off because coffee shops, wineries and quiet venues are more conducive to his solo shows.
By day, Yeardley works for Ohio's Environmental Protection Agency. He spends two or three weekends a month playing music and hopes to increase that in the spring, when the CD project is complete.
"I lead a dual life," he joked. "By day, I'm a mild-mannered environmental scientist. By night, I'm a wild and crazy musician."
