Interstate 77 will be closed for at least 24 hours
Flames from a gas line explosion in Sissonville crossed Interstate 77, melting the guardrail and damaging part of the road. The interstate is closed while crews repave the area.
There are a few detour options that the West Virginia Department of Transportation is telling motorists to use while Interstate 77 is closed.
Interstate 77 near Sissonville sustained significant damage after a gas line exploded Tuesday. The heat from the fire caused the interstate to crumble. Crews with West Virginia Paving were called in to mill and pave the 800-foot section.
