SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- South Charleston firefighters are unsure what caused a tractor-trailer sitting in a garage at the South Charleston Industrial Park to catch fire on Tuesday.
The park is also known as the South Charleston Ordnance Center.
Technicians were running some routine tests on the tractor-trailer, which was sitting in a garage at Western Branch Diesel, when the truck caught fire at 11:39 a.m., South Charleston Assistant Fire Chief Virgil White said.
A worker running the tests noticed the truck was on fire when he exited the vehicle, White said.
A sprinkler system in the garage contained the fire to that building, he said. However, the fire did extend into the top of the building when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control and extinguished the flames, White said.
No injuries were reported.
