Most Kanawha customers see power restored before noon
The bulk of customers impacted by an early morning power outage in the Elkview area were back in service before 11 a.m. Wednesday, said Phil Moye, spokesman for Appalachian Power.
A tree across a line caused a power outage in the Elkview area about 2 a.m. Wednesday causing about 2,000 customers to be without service, he said.
Service had been restored to all but about six customers before 11 a.m. Power to remaining customers was expected to be restored by Wednesday afternoon.
In addition to Elkview, 57 more customers were without service in various areas of Kanawha County on Wednesday morning, he said. All customers were expected to have service by Wednesday afternoon.
