Man flees after attempting to rob Hernshaw 7-Eleven
Officials are searching for a man who attempted to rob the 7-Eleven convenience store in Hernshaw early Thursday.
The attempted robbery was reported at 2:30 a.m. A man reportedly demanded all the money from the register when the clerk opened the cash drawer to complete his purchase transaction. The man held his hand in his coat pocket as though he had a gun, but he did not make threats or brandish a weapon, according to a news release from Capt. Sean Crosier of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
The clerk refused, and the man left running west toward Lens Creek Road. He may have jumped into a white or tan older model Buick car, Crosier said.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s with a scruffy beard. He was wearing a black jacket with a dark blue hooded sweatshirt under it with the hood pulled over his head, dark jeans and white tennis shoes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office and speak with Deputy B.L. Adams.
