A man arrested on outstanding warrants has also been charged with breaking and entering the concession stand at Pinch Elementary School, where he is accused of stealing food and an envelope containing cash.
Michael Hardway was first reported as a suspicious person on April 30, when he was seen carrying a rifle as he walked along a road in the Pinch area. When deputies located and questioned him, they discovered that active outstanding warrants were out on Hardway for two misdemeanors - transferring and receiving stolen property and destruction of property.
Deputies arrested Hardway at that time.
Cpl. Brian Humphreys said Hardway, who was charged with the break-in on Thursday, has been questioned about similar break-ins in the area, including those at other concession stands.
The investigation into those crimes is ongoing, Humphreys said. Anyone with information about the concession stand break-ins in Pinch is asked to call Detective M. P. Knapp at 304-357-0556, or submit an anonymous tip at www.kanawhasheriff.us.
