CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Christian women's inspirational speaker and author Beth Moore is coming to the Charleston Civic Center for "Living Proof Live," an event expected to draw thousands from several states.
The event, presented by Nashville-based publishing company LifeWay Christian Resources, is set for 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Saturday. General admission is $69.
"Living Proof Live," now in its 15th year, last brought Moore to Charleston in 2006 when she spoke to a sold-out audience.
Lisa Pack, coordinator for the upcoming event, attended the last one held at the Charleston Civic Center seven years ago.
"Her passion is contagious and makes you want to live a life completely sold out for Jesus," Pack said. "She truly has a gift to take God's word and deliver it right to your heart. When you hear her speak, you will laugh, cry and be totally engaged in God's word."
She said people have been gathering to pray for the upcoming event since late last year.
"In the fall of 2012 we formed community action teams of ladies throughout the state who have been sharing the news with churches, communities and businesses," Pack said. "In April 150 ladies from all over the state attended a kick-off rally for the event at Bible Center Church."
Other gatherings followed. A prayer walk is scheduled for noon Friday at the Civic Center, where seats will be touched and prayers said for those attending the conference the following day.
At 7 p.m. Friday, Bible Center Church will host Laura Story in concert. Tickets are $30 each or $25 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available online at www.biblecenterchurch.com or at the door.
The event at the Charleston Civic Center will be broadcast live throughout the world, Pack said.
