CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A program is being held at the Kanawha County Public Library for those who want to know how to help the growing homeless population in the area, said Terry Wooten the library's marketing and development manager.
"Without a Home: What You Can Do to Help People Who are Homeless in Your Community" will be held 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at the main library in downtown Charleston. Participants are invited to bring their lunch.
Brand libraries offering the program include St. Albans 6 p.m. Sept. 30 and Elk Valley 6 p.m. Oct. 3.
Participating organizations include Manna Meal, Covenant House, West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, YWCA, Roark Sullivan Lifeway Center, West Virginia Office of Economic Opportunity and the Religious Coalition for Community Renewal.Attendees are asked to bring toiletry items to be distributed to local shelters.
