The last regular season date for the East End Bazaar will be Oct. 12, but the shopping destination won't end without a last hurrah.
On that date, the Bazaar will host a stop on TOMS shoe brand's nationwide Vagabond Tour - the tour's only stop in West Virginia and one of 25 cities in the eastern United States.
East End Bazaar Market Manager Ned Savage told the East End Board of Directors about the TOMS event during its regular meeting on Wednesday.
According to the tour's website, visitors to the TOMS tour van will be able to interact with TOMS tour members, get free tour-exclusive merchandise, learn about internship opportunities and learn about the TOMS organization and its products.
East End Main Street Director Ric Cavender said the fact that a national brand is interested in visiting the Bazaar shows the vitality of the venue.
"We're excited because it just proves again that our market is a viable market," he said.
Savage also told the board about the progress the Bazaar has made during its first full season.
For this season, the Bazaar has 98 approved vendors, referring to vendors who are eligible to reserve booths on the Saturdays the Bazaar is open. Not all vendors attend each week, however.
