Officials from the Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority and other dignitaries, including Mayor Danny Jones at center, cut a ribbon opening the new Graystone Manor apartments on Charleston's West Side Monday. The units, located on the former site of Clark Industries, are the latest addition to the authority's upgraded housing stock.
One of the kitchens is shown here. The apartments, built by Chicago-based Alan Ives Construction, are the latest phase in the authority's plans to replace its housing stock with newer units.
Allen Taylor, facilities manager for the Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority, listens to speakers during the ceremony. The new units consist of 20 one-bedroom apartments and eight two-bedroom apartments.
