Because of the threat of inclement weather, Nitro city officials decided to move their Christmas parade from Saturday to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16.
Patrolman H. R. Blake said the decision was made not only for the safely of those involved in the parade, but also for the comfort of spectators.
The parade will travel from Pickens Road (near McDonald's) on Rt. 25 to 19th Street/Republic Way and then to City Park.
South Charleston city leaders also decided to move their Christmas parade from Saturday to noon Dec. 21. It still will begin at Oakes Field.
