CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The latest addition to Charleston's downtown hotel collection has announced its opening date.
The Four Points by Sheraton, located at 600 Kanawha Blvd. East, is scheduled to open on Jan. 16. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the hotel will be 9 a.m. Jan. 22.
While the hotel is scheduled to be open by that time, the Four Points corporate reservation system does not allow reservations for the hotel until after April 1.
A search for rooms on the night of April 11 showed a standard non-refundable rate of $119 per night, which comes to $134.10 with taxes and fees. A refundable rate for the same room is listed at $149 per night, which comes to $167.63 with taxes.
The hotel is currently a Ramada, but the building's owner, Albany, N.Y.-based BBL Hospitality, has been renovating the building to become a Four Points by Sheraton.
The remodeled hotel will be completely non-smoking, and will have an indoor pool, exercise facilities, valet service, a business center and meeting space, among other amenities. Complimentary wireless Internet access will also be available throughout the hotel.
The Ramada was originally the home of the Charleston House hotel. The property was part of the Holiday Inn brand for years until being converted to a Ramada in 2011.
