Update: The first truck ran out of water around 7:45 p.m. The second truck from Virginia will arrive around 9 p.m. with about 650 more cases of water.
The Charleston Daily Mail and Charleston Newspapers circulation staff are coordinating a public bottled water distribution this evening at the newspaper parking lot at the corner of McFarland Street and Kanawha Boulevard.
Distribution will begin at 7:30 p.m. -- no earlier. Please do not form lines before that time.
We will have several hundred cases available -- MAX two per family.
Trane Heating and Cooling employees based in Pittsburgh and Roanoke, Va., took it upon themselves to purchase the water and drive it to Charleston.
Kanawha County officials and the Charleston Police Department are aware of this distribution.
