N.J. man will stop selling N.Y. master keys
NEW YORK - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg says a retired New Jersey locksmith has agreed to stop selling New York master keys online.
Bloomberg said Monday city officials spoke to Daniel Ferraris, who agreed to stop selling the keys on eBay.
An undercover New York Post reporter bought a five-key ring last week.
Ferraris is from Union, N.J. He told the newspaper he'd bought the keys from collectors.
Some of the keys open New York electrical panels and lamppost lights. One key opened phased-out fire alarm boxes. One may be a key firefighters use for elevators. Other keys may belong to electricians or construction workers who have access to city sites.
