GLEN BURNIE, Md. — Anne Arundel County authorities say a 3-year-old Glen Burnie boy has been hospitalized after a neighbor's dog bit off part of his nose.
County fire department spokesman Lt. Keith Hamilton says firefighters called to the home Saturday evening were able to find part of the nose and took it to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center, where the boy was initially treated. County police say the child was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital's pediatric trauma center for further treatment.
Police say the dog was confined to its yard at the time and the child may have put his face under the fence through a hole when he was bitten.
Police say the dog's owners are cooperating and turned the dog over to Animal Control, which will further investigate the incident.
