Men sentenced after being caught in Putnam County with illegal immigrants
Two Mexican nationals were sentenced to nearly six months in federal prison for transporting illegal aliens.
United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers ordered Miguel Marquez-Jimenez, 25, and Sergio Morales-Jimenez, 20, turned over to the Department of Homeland Security. Both pleaded guilty previously, admitting they transported 14 illegal aliens April 5 from Houston to Putnam County. They were enroute to New Jersey when they were stopped. All of them were turned over for deportation proceedings.
