Boil-water advisory for Red House lifted

By From staff reports

A boil water advisory for the Red House area of Putnam County was lifted shortly before noon today, according to a news release from West Virginia American Water Co.

The advisory was issued Sunday morning for about 300 customers on sections of Route 34, Grandview Ridge Road, Lone Oak Road, Wilkie Road and Antioch Road following a water main break. The break was repaired and a boil water advisory issued as a precautionary measure until water could be tested. Tests have confirmed that water quality meets drinking water standards and there is no further need to boil water prior to consumption.
