Assisted living facility announced for Teays Valley

By From staff reports

The Cathcart Group, a Charlottesville-based real estate developer, has announced construction of a new $16 million assisted living facility to be located in Teays Valley.

Bellaire at Devonshire will be an assisted living community to serve Putnam County and the surrounding areas. Located at 5 Bexley Drive in Scott Depot, it will include 64 assisted living and 24 memory care units for patients with Alzheimer's disease or dementia. The property is 4.34 acres.

Residents can choose from a variety of unit sizes, floor plans, locations and features, including the option of enjoying their own "back door" to a private patio. Memory care units will be located in a private one-story wing of the building with secure access points, and residents will have their own private courtyard and private dining room.

The facility also will include state-of-the-art technology such as an emergency call system with upgraded features and an Internet-based therapy program for residents with dementia that involves family and resident interaction via audio/video. The community will feature state-of-the-art technology combined with an amenity package that includes fitness center, movie theatre, library, beauty salon, Wi-Fi, computer stations, card/game room, cafe/deli and crafts area. Construction began in early June.
