Putnam deputies search for bank robber

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Deputies are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a bank in Putnam County with a note.

A man walked into the Huntington Bank on Great Teays Boulevard and W.Va. 34 in Teays Valley at about 2:54 p.m. Tuesday and handed a note to the teller, demanding money, Putnam Sheriff Steve Deweese said in an email.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen behind then TA truck stop in Teays Valley near Interstate 64.

He's described as a white man in his early 20s. He was about 6-foot-3 and weighed between 150 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing tan or khaki pants, a plaid shirt and black sunglasses. Anyone with information can contact the Putnam Sheriff's Department at 304-586-0214.
