West Virginia American Water has issued a boil water advisory for about 1,500 customers in Putnam and Kanawha counties.
The advisory, due to a water main break, is expected to last through Thursday morning, said spokesman Gary Lobaugh.

Customers affected are along Route 34 from Manilla Creek Road to Fisher's Ridge Road, Mt. Etna Road, Scott Ridge Road, Crooked Ridge Road, Derricks Creek from Route 34 to Box 16991 and Fisher's Ridge Road.
Once service is restored, water should be boiled before consumption until further notice.

Keep boiled water in the refrigerator for drinking.
Provide pets with boiled water after cooling.
Do not use home filtering devices in place of boiling.
Use only boiled water to treat minor injuries.
