The Teays Valley Church of God in Scott Depot invites business and community leaders and area residents to visit the campus of the future church and community center at 4606 Teays Valley Road, just east of Rocky Step in Scott Depot, on Thursday. A 15-minute presentation will be given every hour on the hour beginning at 10 a.m. and concluding at 6 p.m. PRAY Construction is developing plans for a community center and space for the growing church.
"We want leaders in Putnam County to know about the 74acre project we are undertaking because it isn't just a church project, but a community one," the church's pastor, the Rev. Melissa Pratt, said in a news release. "The proposed building, a 1200-seat, twogymnasium facility, will be a place for sports teams to practice, people to walk indoors, and a place for large banquets and conferences. It will be a place where emotional, physical and relational needs get met in addition to the spiritual."
Site prep for the proposed $3.3 million facility will be approximately $1 million.
"We need community partners to help us make this dream a reality," Pratt said. "The site prep is step one. We are hoping for our community and business leaders to step up and help us make it happen."
