Town hall meeting with Morrisey set for Putnam courthouse

By From staff reports

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey will host a town hall meeting in Putnam County at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the public meeting room of the Putnam County Courthouse, 3389 Winfield Road, Winfield. The public is encouraged to attend for a discussion on challenges facing the county, local communities and its citizens.

Since 1990, the population in Putnam County has grown from just over 43,000 to more than 56,000. The county's population has grown by more than 7 percent since 2000, making it one of the state's fastest growing counties.

The town hall meeting is part of a statewide listening tour the Office of the Attorney General announced earlier this year. Morrisey has hosted more than 20 town hall meetings in counties throughout the state. During those events, he's answered questions and talked with citizens about how the Office can play a role in improving West Virginia's business climate.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling  304-558-2021  or by emailing communications@wvago.gov.
