CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- As many as four vehicle crashes were reported near Northgate Business Park in Charleston Monday night after a water main break in the area.
The main break, which occurred near 936 Greenbrier St., reportedly created slick road conditions as temperatures fell.
One person was taken to the hospital, according to a Kanawha Metro 911 dispatcher.
Dispatchers said crews from West Virginia American Water were called to repair the break. State Division of Highways crews also were called to the scene to salt the road because of the ice forming.
Motorists were advised to use caution.
