HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- DeAndre Kane's basketball career at Marshall is over.
The school announced Tuesday afternoon that Kane will not return for his senior season.
"After meeting with DeAndre, I have decided it is in our program's and his best interest that he seek opportunities elsewhere," fourth-year Marshall Coach Tom Herrion said. "We appreciate his contributions to our team and wish him the best in his future."
Kane was the second-leading scorer (15.1 points per game) on the team last season, while leading Conference USA with 7.1 assists per game. He ranked eighth nationally in assists.
Kane, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard from Pittsburgh, Pa., was a second-team all-conference selection.
