CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin's deputy chief of staff is resigning.
Erica Mani will become chief executive officer of the American Red Cross' state regional office on Nov. 29. She'll supervise 11 offices and 33 employees.
Mani succeeds John Golden, who left on Sept. 1.
Mani previously served as executive director of the state's Consolidated Public Retirement Board. She also had roles in the administrations of former Govs. Joe Manchin and Bob Wise.
During her two years as deputy chief of staff, Mani served as vice chairwoman of the West Virginia Broadband Deployment Council. She also helped oversee a $126.3 million federal grant designed to expand high-speed Internet in the state. The U.S. Commerce Department's inspector general is reviewing the state's use of the stimulus funds
