CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Corridor H Authority laid a "stage version" of Corridor H on the second floor of the Capitol on Friday, connecting the Senate chambers to the House of Delegates. The mock highway was dotted with significant markers, information booths and video about Corridor H's path, with special detail paid to a 25-mile uncompleted section midway along the route.
The theatrical gesture was aimed at drawing attention to unfinished sections of the decades-old road project. The Capitol version of the 130-mile highway began at the steps outside the State Senate's Chamber and ended at the House of Delegates Chamber's front doors. The Senate served as the Weston exit off I-79; the entrance to the House the Virginia Inland Port at I-66/I-81.
