CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Former Democratic Party Chairman Nick Casey will hold a press conference Tuesday to announce "future campaign intentions," according to a press release.
While it is unclear what Casey will campaign for, the Charleston lawyer has long been on the short list of candidates expected to run for Rep. Shelley Moore Capito's 2nd District seat next year.
Capito, a Republican, plans to run for retiring Sen. Jay Rockefeller's office. Speaking to the Daily Mail in November, Casey said Capito's open seat was "very interesting."
Casey's press conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the Governor's Press Conference Room at the state Capitol.
