HAMLIN, W.Va. -- A committee will meet in Lincoln County to nominate three candidates to replace a state lawmaker who resigned.
Josh Stowers recently stepped down from the House of Delegates to take a job as a top deputy in the state treasurer's office. Stowers also left his job as assistant principal at Horace Mann Middle School.
The local House of Delegates Executive Committee will choose potential successors Thursday evening at the Lincoln County Courthouse. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin will appoint one of the candidates to serve the remainder of Stowers' term.
Any registered Democrat living in District 22 is eligible for the appointment.
