CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - An educational exhibit on West Virginia's statehood is available to organizations as the state enters next year's sesquicentennial.
The West Virginia Humanities Council is offering the exhibit "Born of Rebellion: West Virginia Statehood" free of charge to historical and cultural groups, museums and other interested venues.
The exhibit currently is on display through Dec. 21 at the Historic Oak Hill School in Oak Hill.
The exhibit originally toured the state for two years starting in 2006. It consists of display materials in three triangular kiosks.West Virginia joined the Union as the 35th state on June 20, 1863.
