The Kanawha County Commission is notifying residents they can apply for Small Business Administration loans to help repair damage they may have suffered during Superstorm Sandy last October.
While residents in the region were not approved for individual assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, residents in Nicholas, Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Kanawha and Webster counties are eligible for SBA loan assistance.
SBA provides loans to homeowners, renters, businesses and private and non-profit organizations to repair or replace real estate, property and equipment damaged or destroyed during disasters.
Officials said any homeowner or renter that suffered personal property damage during the storm should call (800) 659-2955. Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals can also call (800) 877-8339.Applications for assistance are due to the SBA by April 26.
