WEIRTON, W.Va. -- Nine flood-prone homes in Weirton will be demolished within the next six months.
The homes are located along Willow Street. Mayor George Kondik tells WTOV-TV (http://bit.ly/12ySoID ) that flooding in the area has worsened in recent years.
The owners of a dozen homes were offered buyouts. One owner rejected the buyout offer. Families are still living in two of the homes.
State and federal money funded the buyout program.
