ROWLESBURG, W.Va. -- Police are investigating the death of a man who drowned in the Cheat River in Preston County.
Media outlets report that divers recovered the body of 29-year-old Jimmy Taylor of Morgantown on Sunday afternoon.
Preston County sheriff's Deputy J.G. Rodeheaver says Taylor's brother, 27-year-old Robert Taylor of Tunnelton, told police a current swept him away Saturday morning while they were in the water.
Robert Taylor wrecked his van in Kingwood while going for help for his brother. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Preston County Sheriff Dan Loughrie says Taylor's body will be sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
