MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- A feature-length movie about a West Virginia family struggling with a grandmother's Alzheimer's disease is making the rounds of the state's cinemas.
"Angel's Perch" premiered in Charleston on Sunday and is set for screening in Morgantown on July 2. The filmmakers, Los Angeles-based Scrappy Cats Productions, are using an innovative online tool called Tugg that allows communities to request screenings in their towns.
The film was shot in West Virginia. The setting is the historic logging town of Cass, and the film stars Ally Walker, Joyce Van Patten, Ashley Jones and Ellen Crawford.
West Virginia University law students, alumni and faculty provided legal services for the film.
