"It celebrates the nude body, the nude form," she said. "Across the country at nude beaches and resorts we host celebrations that recognize nudity and the body."
Hoffman said events at nude beaches were open to anyone willing to strip down, but events at resorts are only open to members of the officially recognized clubs.
Although most of the participants are experienced nudists, Hoffman said the events are welcoming to curious newcomers.
"We do get some first timers and most of them come back and become card-carrying members," she said.
Hoffman couldn't say exactly where the members keep their cards.
