Bikers converge on Morgantown; parade Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Police are warning Morgantown motorists to prepare for new traffic patterns this weekend and for the thousands of motorcycles about to descend on the city.

MountainFest kicks off Wednesday at Mylan Park. Among the bands performing are Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Foghat and The Guess Who.

The MountainFest Motorcycle Rally Parade is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, starting at the West Virginia University Coliseum and heading into the downtown area. The parade will loop through campus and pass the Mountainlair on its way to High Street.

Traffic will be restricted during the parade, but police say they'll reopen streets as quickly as possible.

MountainFest began in 2005 and draws tens of thousands of bikers every summer.
