Martinsburg to host W.Va. NAACP annual conference

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Martinsburg is hosting the West Virginia chapter of the NAACP's annual conference for the first time since 1997.

The 69th annual conference begins Friday and continues through Saturday.

Martinsburg-Berkeley County branch president Danette Ross tells The Journal ( ) that delegates from across the state are expected to attend.

The theme of this year's conference is "''We shall not be moved."

Meeting topics will include photo identification legislation and plans for a march to help commemorate the historic March on Washington that occurred Aug. 28, 1963.
