HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Marshall University's Board of Governors has approved a master of public health program.
The master's program will be offered through the College of Health Professions. President Stephen J. Kopp says the public health discipline will complement Marshall's professional doctoral schools in health care, including medicine, pharmacy and physical therapy.
School officials say the new master's program addresses a crucially important need for public health professionals in the Huntington region and strengthens existing partnerships with local, state and national agencies.
Marshall's governors approved the master of public health program this week.
