MANNINGTON, W.Va. -- Gun enthusiasts have a new public shooting range in West Virginia where they can practice their marksmanship.
The newest state Division of Natural Resources shooting range is located on the Dents Run Wildlife Management Area near Mannington in western Marion County. DNR director Frank Jezioro says it was built by agency employees to help control costs.
After a dedication ceremony Friday, the Dents Run Shooting Range will be open for public use starting on Saturday.
Officials say rules for the range will be posted and enforced.
The range features four standard benches and one bench for the physically challenged.
The Dents Run Wildlife Management area covers 1,226 acres. The area is mostly forested and provides hunting opportunities.
