WELLSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A hazing incident has prompted the resignations of two Brooke High School boys soccer coaches.
Brooke County Schools Superintendent Kathy Kidder-Wilkerson tells media outlets that head coach Brian Cerullo and assistant coach Joe Palcic voluntarily resigned on Friday. They will remain employed as teachers.
Kidder-Wilkerson says players reported a hazing incident occurred Sept. 23 on school property after classes ended.
The Brooke County school board will hold disciplinary hearings for two students accused in the incident on Oct. 7.
She says she can't discuss the incident. But she says neither coach was present.
