Raleigh General Hospital cuts 14 positions
BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Raleigh General Hospital has eliminated 14 positions and won't fill several others that are vacant.
Media outlets report that the Beckley hospital announced the reductions on Tuesday.
President and CEO David Darden says in a statement that the affected positions primarily don't have patient care responsibilities.
Darden says Raleigh General and other hospitals across the nation are facing significant challenges. He says the reductions are necessary to streamline the hospital's operations and make them efficient.
Affected employees are being offered financial assistance.
